How work-based learning can address educational equity and opportunity gaps
About the event:
Everyday HERE to HERE and its partners work to intentionally build equity in work-based learning opportunities for young people—by fighting for increased access to paid opportunities and social capital, centering youth, and lifting student voice.
On January 21, HERE to HERE’s Lazar Treschan and HERE to HERE Ambassador and Teens Take Charge member La’Toya Beecham presented our report “One Step Closer” at Education Systems Center at NIU’s Work-based Learning Innovation Network.
This report discusses our belief that expanding and enhancing work-based learning offers the greatest potential to mitigate the opportunity gaps faced by today’s students.
During the event, HERE to HERE presented the report and engaged attendees in a conversation on work-based learning as a tool for social and economic equity.
